Pack-n-Play

I am so in love with this thing... I can't wait to stand there and watch my little man sleeping soundly in his bassinet. I put it together in the baby's room, but it will go in our room while I'm breastfeeding at all hours of the night. I love the changing station on it, so I won't have to take him to the other room to change him in the middle of the night. (Or should I say Bobby won't have to... lol.) When he starts sleeping all the way through the night we'll put him in his crib in his room. I can't wait to get his furniture so I can actually decorate the walls, his room is so empty right now. The only thing in it right now is a loveseat, bookcase with tons of baby stuff crammed on it and my sewing table and scrapbook supplies.

Super Simple Door Decor

So, rather than going and buying the pre-made letters (that never are the colors you want them to be) or trying to paint the wooden ones from the craft store, I made mine from scrapbook paper, my printer (I didn't even use any color ink) and scissors. All things I did not have to buy before starting this project. Let me know what you guys think!

How To:
Materials - Scrapbook paper (1 page per letter, design of your choice), Word or Publisher, or any other desktop publishing software, Scissors and Tape.

1. Cut your scrapbook paper to 8.5"x11" if it is not that size already.

2. In your desktop publishing program, find a font that you like and type one letter per page.

3. Change the font color to a light grey (so it doesn't show through the paper after it's printed).

4. Make sure you load your printer with the scrapbook paper so that the letters will print on the BACK of it (the white side).

5. When you go to print, go into your print properties and look for the option that says "mirror image" and select. (If you do not do this your letters will come out backwords when you cut and flip it over.)

6. Print your letters. (I usually do one at a time to make sure I don't make a mistake.)

7. Cut your letters along the outline.

8. Flip it over to the scrapbook design side and you have perfect letters, in the font and style you want!

9. Tape it anywhere you want!

The Run Down of My Day

-Got up and ate breakfast.
-Took a bath and attempted to shave my legs. (This is a joke when you're preg.)
-Found a package on my door, it was my pack-n-play from my registry from Bobby's aunt Clarice, cousins Megan and Mary. (Thank you, thank you, thank you!!)
-Got gas.
-Went to my specialist appt. in Atlanta.
-Doc said my cervix was the same as last week. (2.1cm - 2.2cm)
-Saw baby playing with his feet. (SOOOO cute)
-Baby weighs 4lbs and 3oz.
-Doc told me that my next appt. will be the last one, then I see my regular OB from then on.
-Told me to come off medication at 35 weeks so I can start having contractions again. (I'll need to start again to get my body ready for real labor.)
-Their printer was broken so no pics this time. :o(
-Went to have lunch with my honey at work and tell him about the appt.
-Went to Staples to pick up a fax and fax some more leave paperwork to HR.
-Came home and started cleaning.
-Helped Ronnie with some special things he was doing for his GF's b-day today.
-Sorted some laundry and cleaned some more.

Now I'm getting ready to have dinner and sing happy birthday to Andrea. :o) Thanks to everyone who left me comments either on here or on Myspace yesterday. I love you all...

Anniversary

February 24th, 2008 my little boy was born an angel... it's been a tough year since then, but I do think it has made me stronger. I'm not gonna do a long blog on this subject because it will only make me upset and I really don't want to be. I just wanted to take a minute and thank my little angel baby and tell him I'm sorry I didn't get to keep him. I will always and forever miss him and love him til the day I die.

Mommy loves you little Brent...

Just Realized

Some of the socks that my aunt Mary put on the diaper wreath totally match some puppy dog onesies I got a while back at a consignment shop here in town. I can't wait to match them up and make little matching outfits! SOOOO cute!

(I got these for $0.99 at the consignment shop... 2 of them still had original Carters tags on them. I love bargains!)

THE NEW 'DO...

31 WEEKS!

I've got to share the surprise I woke up to this morning... My parents went to Alabama to visit my mom's family. They came back with these wonderful gifts for my shower...

DIAPER CAKE!

DIAPER WREATH!

My aunt Mary totally ROCKS in the diaper cake/wreath creations!! They are SOOOOO cute!! And it's totally going to match the whole shower color scheme and theme. I can't wait to proudly display my aunt's hard work. It's pretty extensive, I don't even know how long it took her to make. I really hope she can make it to my shower, she's been pretty sick lately. If she can't come I totally understand, I'll just have to make sure and get a ton of pictures of everyone admiring it! :o)

Thank you SO much Mary - I love you!!

Paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork...

Wow, I really didn't realize that going on short term disability required so much paperwork. Authorization... certifications... notices... this form... that form. I got the list of the things I needed to do in order to receive my short term disabilty pay in the mail yesterday. I've been filling out and faxing forms for the past hour. At least I'm done for now, until my doctor signs my "Certification of Health Care Provider" form and sends it back to me so I can sign it and send it to my HR dept. Oh, and I have a 15 day window to complete all of it and turn it back in or else I won't get approved for any pay. That's why I started on it ASAP. Well... I would've started last night, but I wanted to fax things over when I knew someone would be in all the offices I was faxing to. Let's just hope my doc gets it done fairly quickly and sends it back to me soon. I see him next Wednesday, but that's only 3 days before my deadline to turn it in, so I'll probably call tomorrow and see if he got to it and when I should expect it back. The boredom of being at home all day is getting to me. My most exciting parts of the day are at 10am when The Doctors come on, and then around 5:30pm when all my family gets home. Soon, that will all change... my favorite parts of the day will consist of looking at my baby boy and changing him and playing with him. Memorizing every feature of his face. I just can't wait. 10 more weeks (or less)...

3D/4D Appointment and Baby Shower Stuff

So I've booked my 3D/4D ultrasound appointment for March 8th. I'm so excited! I got the Complete Package which includes a 25-30 minutes session, a CD of all the images, a live 4D video clip on the CD, 18 color prints of my choice, an online baby album to share with friends and family, a baby brag book, a report for my scrapbook and a DVD of the entire session. I can't wait!! My 2nd baby shower is the following weekend so I'm going to set my laptop up on one of the tables and play the DVD. I can't believe in 10 weeks or less I'll be holding my baby boy... There's still so much to get done, but it'll be much easier after the showers. And when we get our tax return and hubby's bonus back so we can finally buy furniture. I sent my invitation design to Staples for printing. I had to do the graphic designing myself. I didn't like either the designs or prices on any of the wesites I went to. But it turned out for the best because I designed them after my cake and they are just adorable... I'm very pleased with myself, lol.

Cake design, though my cake will be square, not round.
