So we went in today and did an ultrasound. First thing the tech checked was the baby and the fluid. She said everything looked really good, and he was even showing us his goods, a lot! Hope that doesn't become a habit later in life... yikes. Lock up your daughters ladies. Anyway, after that she measured the cervix. When the doc came back in he said that the cervix was back up to 4cm so I didn't have to get the stitch done today. But of course we'll still continue to monitor it closely, so next appointment is in 2 weeks on Jan. 6th.
Today is a pretty hard day for me though. Since my crossover days are the same (Tuesdays), I am exactly at the point where I was when I started cramping and going into premature labor. It was a Friday and I was 22 weeks and 3 days (like I am today). I lost him on that Sunday (22 weeks and 5 days). This whole weekend will probably be rough, but at least I have to work this weekend so it'll help me get through it if I keep busy. I still miss my baby boy so much... thank God I have another chance. This new little guy in my belly just keeps me going. Before him I still broke down a lot and cried in the middle of the night. I don't think anyone will ever know how special this baby is to me and how much I will love him, because he saved me. I think he knew I needed him and he chose me to give him a life.
I just can't wait for the day he arrives... Can it be April 28th yet?

A very late 21 week specialist update...
Tuesday Bobby and I went to my specialist appointment in Atlanta. I had my ultrasound and they measured the cervix like always. And he did an exam like always. I really expected it to be a pretty boring visit. Turns out it wasn't...
He said that in all the times before my cervix has been about 4cm long. Although this time it was still closed, it has shortened slightly, now it's about 3.5cm. He said that it is normal to fluctuate, but he scheduled another appointment the following week (Dec. 26th) to look at it again. If it has shortened anymore then he's going to go ahead and do the cerclage (stitch it up).
Some of you may or may not know that Office Depot is closing 112 stores this year. One of those stores was the Cartersville store. Lately my copy center has been packed with not only regular Staples customers, but now we have all the Office Depot people. Normally I try to sit down between jobs or customers, but now it's damn near impossible. I don't know if that has any affect on my cervix by being constantly on my feet busting my ass all day. I also don't know how it will affect my cervix once there's a stitch in it.
I guess I'll have to ask those questions on Friday when I go in. The thing I fear the most is putting my baby in danger by working. And it doesn't help that they've cut the part timers hours because of the economy sucking a$$. So when we used to have 3 shifts (morning, mid and night), we only have 2 (morning and night). Not to mention I had useless assistant managers who don't like to help when the line is 5 people deep at the counter and I'm getting the "hurry the eff up sighs" from the customers... but of course there's the idiot that keeps asking the same question ten different ways, holding everyone else up.
It's a tough spot for me... do I try to find a different job after the baby's born. Or is the economy still going to continue to spiral and I should be lucky to have a full time job and suck it up? There's people out there that are having everything they own taken away because they don't have any income to pay the bills. They would be chomping at the bit to take my job and not complain one bit. I wish I could just start my own company, be my own boss, work my own hours and do something that I actually like to do.
Anyway, I'm just ranting now because I'm tired... I'll let you all know how the appointment goes on Friday. I hope everyone has a great Christmas!

20 Weeks
-Baby's skin is thickening and will begin to form four layers.
-Gland will produce vernix caseosa, a waxy substance that protects baby's skin from the continuous immersion in the amniotic fluid.
-Scalp hair and toenails are forming.
-Baby's digestive system is producing meconium, a tarry black substance consisting of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretions and dead cells, which will fill baby's first diaper when he is born!

What the...?
Well, I woke up this morning and got ready for work like I do every monday. Took a shower, came downstairs and got some coffee and made a blueberry bagel. Started putting my face on and about that time I realized I had to pay rent on that coffee. After I finished, I noticed some blood on the tissue. I immediately freaked out, but of course my doctor's office doesn't open til 8am, so it was too early to call. It wasn't a lot so I calmed myself down and decided to check again once I got to work.
I checked EVERY HOUR, and I mean EVERY HOUR, and nothing else. So I decided not to call the doctor. My 20 week ultrasound is on Thursday. If anything happens between now and then though I'll probably see if they can sqeeze me in sooner. I've felt little one moving through out the day, so I'm not too worried. I just hope my cervix isn't playing games and trying to open up. I think if that were the case I'd still be bleeding though. I'll keep everyone updated though.

19 Weeks and Update
Ok, ok... I know it's been a while since I updated. I'm sorry it's just been pretty busy around here. Bobby and I went up to Tennessee and spent time with his family for the day. It was nice to see everyone again. We ate lots of great food. I made a hashbrown casserole, it turned out pretty good and I also made spice cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. My parents got a bite when we got home and I was forced to make them again this weekend. :o)

I haven't had an appointment in 2 weeks. My specialist was booked the week before Thanksgiving, due to so many women making appointments hoping to find out the genders of their babies so they could announce it at family functions. The receptionist said that's the trend before big holidays. Anyway so I have one on Wednesday, so I'm excited to see my little boy who's been kicking me all day! My last OBGYN appointment went so well he said I could come back in 4 weeks, that was 3 weeks ago. So my appointment is for the 9th, then on the 11th I'm scheduled to do my 20 week ultrasound to do all my measurements and she'll look for any discrepancies, unless they go ahead and do this at the specialists office, then I can cancel that appointment.
So that's what's going on with that. My belly is getting bigger by the day. Mom, Dad, Ronnie and I ventured down to the mall yesterday. Mom and I ended up spending almost an hour in the Motherhood Maternity store. I got my birthday present early though. Mom bought me a pair of "secret fit belly" jeans, which are SOOOO comfy (I'm wearing them now...), 4 shirts and a nursing bra. Speaking of bras, apparently I'm a D now. I've been busting out of all of my C bras. Even some of the D's were pushing it. I can't even imagine what size they'll be when I'm actually nursing and the engorgement. I'm scared... very scared. Lol.
Here's the scoop on baby this week. I'm a day early, but I'm making up for not doing an 18 week blog... :o)
-Baby is approx. 5.2 to 6 inches long and weighs between 7 to 8.5 ounces.
-Uterus can be felt about half an inch below the belly button.
-Nerves that connect the muscle to the brain have grown into place and baby's moves are conciously directed.
-Feet are approx. 1 inch long.
-Buds for baby teeth are beginning to appear.
