Today was a little more eventful

Well last night I noticed a little spotting. I decided to go lay down and watch a movie and put my feet up. The last time I checked last night the spotting stopped. Then this morning I went to the bathroom and the spotting was back. I tried not to freak out, but I called my mom and asked what I should do. We agreed that since it wasn't flowing or bright red and there was no cramping then I should just take it easy and there was no need to get stressed out about it. I had to work tonight, thankfully it wasn't busy at all so I got to chill out on my stool all night. I swear I went to the bathroom like 10 times during my 8 hour shift. It seems to have slacked off. In fact the last time I went there was barely anything, so I'm sure if something bad were going to happen I would be in a lot more pain and bleeding heavy. I just hope it was a blood vessel gone awry. I'm going to take it easy tomorrow and Monday since I don't have to work. I think it is a good sign that I had some morning sickness today. I made two pieces of toast and some orange juice. The orange juice was a BAD idea! I couldn't even eat my other piece of toast. I almost got sick, but I drank some water and walked round a little. That seemed to help. I hope tomorrow is a better day with NO spotting. Maybe I should meditate and tell my body that it needs to do what it's told, lol. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes...

Uneventful Day

As Bobby would say when I ask him how his day was, It was a day like any other day. Work was busy not extremely slammed, like it was yesterday. It make the day go by fast. I made a good, healthy dinner. Pork tenderloin, mac and cheese, carrots and broccoli in herb sauce. And of course water for me. I try to limit myself caffine as much as possible. I have coffee on the weekends but only a small cup. I usually get a coke when I grab something from a fast food place for lunch, but since I've been taking my lunch most days then it's water, I take in my 20oz water bottle and try to finish it by lunch time, then I fill it back up and try to finish it by the time I get off. It works pretty well. I'm not a huge fan of water, but anything for baby. :o) Some important events coming up next week:
  1. Sunday, August 31st - Labor Day Cookout at my parents house
  2. Monday, September 1st - Labor Day (no work for Bobby or Liz!)
  3. Tuesday, September 2nd - Our 2 year wedding anniversary! We probably won't do anything until the weekend after though.
  4. Wednesday, September 3rd - Our first prenatal appointment.

I'll keep everyone updated on how the appointment goes. Hopefully we will be able to see our awkward little seahorse-like baby floating around in there. Not sure if we'll actually be able to see anything at 6 weeks, but it might be fun to try. :o) Maybe I'll take pics from the cookout. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Symptoms so far:

  1. Bloated, I feel like I've just got done eating thanksgiving dinner, all the time!
  2. Burpy, I don't like this one...
  3. Fuller breasts, even Bobby said something about them this morning. I looked in the mirror when I got up and said, Whoa.
  4. Forgetful, I went to work this morning at 8am to find Emily there. Apparently I'm supposed to close tonight, whoops.
  5. Nauseous, I was eating a sandwich and I didn't even make it halfway through through it before putting it down and saying, Ok I'm done.

5 Weeks

- Baby is approx. the size of an orange seed.
- The plate that will become the heart has developed.
- Baby's brain, spinal chord, muscles and bone formation are beginning to form.

It's Official!

Here's how my day started out... I go into work at 8am, my mid-morning break isn't until 10:30am when the second shift comes in. After what seemed like DAYS I finally got to go to the back and call the doctor's office. I got put on hold and then a message come up saying to leave my name and phone number and they call with lab results between 4 and 5pm. WHAT!?! I can't wait that long!! I hang up and call back and ask the receptionist if there's any other way that I can get my results sooner. The answer is no, unless they get some free time between patients. Grr... Ok, fine. I get sent back to the recording and leave my message (and may have begged to be called sooner, but no one can prove that!) . They call back right before I leave for lunch and tells me that my numbers are going up!! YAY!! So I asked her what my numbers were and she said wednesday they were at 94 and friday they were at 283. I asked if that was good, she said I'm right on track where I need to be. DOUBLE YAY!! I am so excited (if you couldn't already tell...). So the whole reason I made this blog is because I know there are a lot of family and friends rooting for us and this pregnancy, so you can literally follow me through my day-to-day life as a pretty preggie!

2nd BFP!

Ok, so I'm offically the most impatient person in the world!! Lol, I went to Walmart on the way home from my parents house. Which I normally NEVER go by myself at night, but I wanted to buy a test for in the morning. Well, I bought two tests, lol. One was an e.p.t. with the +/- signs, the other was is a Clearblue digital. So, I used the e.p.t tonight, I'll save the digital for tomorrow. I got a box with two of those tests, so I'll probably take another one on monday, lol. I did notice that the line came up a little sooner than it did on tuesday's test (about 10-15 seconds). This one was about 5-10 seconds. So, that should be good sign right?! I sure hope so... Anyway, here's the pics:

The Appearance of the BFP

Tuesday, August 12th - I started spotting, yet my period was still two more weeks away.
Wednesday, August 13th - Spotting only in the morning, very light.
Thursday, August 14th - No spotting today.
Friday, August 15th - Spotting only in the morning, very light.
Saturday, August 16th - Spotting only in the morning, very light.
Sunday, August 17th - Spotting got heavier, decided to call the doc in the morning.
Monday, August 18th - No spotting, called the doc and made an appointment for Wednesday at 9:30am.
Tuesday, August 19th - No spotting, anxiously awaiting my doctor's appointment. Decided to do a home pregnancy test, got a faint positive.
Wednesday, August 20th - Went to the doctor, took another pregnancy test once I was there and it was also a faint positive.

Doctor's Appointment:
I met with my doctor and he gave me two scenarios that may be happening.
1. I could just be dealing with typical hormonal issues (such as spotting) that occur in early pregnancy.
-OR-
2. I could be having an early miscarriage.

He did an ultrasound, but gave me a warning beforehand. He said that if we don't see anything to not freak out. Since I'm so early in the pregnancy then my baby is just a ball of cells and we wouldn't be able to see it anyway. What he was looking for was called "thickening". When you're pregnant the lining of your uterus thickens too support the baby. We didn't see a baby, but we did see the thickening, he pointed out an area of a veiny-like growth. So then he gave me two choices.
Option 1: Send me home, have me come back next week to do another test and ultrasound
-OR-
Option 2: Take blood to test for the amount of HCG (pregnancy hormone) in my blood, come back and take more blood on Friday and get the results on Tuesday. If the HCG levels are rising, it's a pregnancy; if they are the same or dropping, it's a miscarriage.

So here I am, now Thursday, August 21st, anxiously but gladly awaiting to go get stuck by needles tomorrow. Then another 3 days waiting for results. I haven't bled since Sunday, so I'm hoping that is a good sign, and maybe the bleeding last week was just my hormones confusing my body. But... in my experience bleeding = very bad. So I'm pretty sure I will be under a watchful eye.

TTC, BFPs, BFNs, 2ww, AF & Other Pregnancy Abbreviations

These abbreviations will only be familiar to those of you who have actually "tried" to have a baby. The first time I got pregnant it ended sadly a little past 22 weeks. I joined a website during that time to keep up with other ladies who were as far along as I was and it was basically just a plac to chit-chat about anything and everything pregnancy. After my pregnancy ended I found this site as a place for support, there where many other women who had been in the same, or similar situations, and some of them more than once. It wasn't until Bobby and I started trying to concieve (or TTC) that I got to learn the pregnancy lingo. I learned alot about myself, my body and pregnancy. Learning when you ovulate is probably the most tricky thing a woman can try to figure out. But once you do you can start your two week wait (or 2ww), until taking a pregnancy test. I posted on the TTC forum and made friends and lended support, awaiting my turn. Each day I get on to see who got a BFP (Big Fat Positive) and who got a BFN (Big Fat Negative). And of course that horrible Aunt Flow (AF, period) comes to visit every month. There are tons of other abbreviations, it'll blow your mind... but I became a pro. And just as I was becoming a pro, I got my BFP!
